The Space

AFTON PEAK sleeps up to 14 guests across four bedrooms and a stargazing loft — a thoughtful configuration for larger groups, multi-family trips, and milestone celebrations. The main level features soaring windows that frame the Blue Ridge from nearly every angle, with an open kitchen, dining, and living area designed for gathering. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the living room, and the layout flows naturally between the indoors and the surrounding landscape. Outside, a hot tub and infrared sauna are available for guests, and the fire pit provides an ideal setting for evenings under a genuinely dark sky — the property holds Dark Sky certification, meaning the night sky here is the real thing. Families are welcome, and dogs are too. Each stay also includes a keepsake AFTON PEAK teddy bear. The property was built with intentional sustainability in mind, including native plantings and partnerships with local vendors throughout.

The Location

AFTON PEAK sits between Route 151 and Route 29 in Nelson County, putting it within easy reach of some of Virginia's most celebrated wine and craft beverage destinations. Flying Fox Vineyard, Veritas, Cardinal Point, Afton Mountain Vineyards, Blue Mountain Brewery, and Hazy Mountain Brewing are all minutes away, with the full Nelson 151 Wine & Brew Trail accessible in either direction. Humpback Rock and the Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail are nearby for hiking, and Wintergreen Resort is a short drive for skiing and snowboarding in winter. Charlottesville and the University of Virginia are approximately 30 to 40 minutes away.
